# Tennessee high school AD put on leave after saying girls 'pretty much ruin everything'

I used to be a PE teacher and this doesn’t surprise me at all. There are good people trying to do good things in PE, but the field is still largely dominated by morons.

I’d actually argue that Adam is worse off in the Adam and Eve story. Eve is tricked by a wily serpent. Adam basically does is because he sees Eve doing it. And then, while they both hide, Adam is the one who lies to God. Yes, there is that one scripture that says that it was that Eve was the one deceived, not Adam. But that only means Adam did it knowingly.
Plus, even if you don’t agree, God does still blame both of them, not just Eve. He doesn’t say “Because of Eve, I now have to punish both of you.” He treats them both as having “eaten of the forbidden tree.” Women have a hard childbirth, and men have to work the ground. Both become mortal, and both are driven away from the Garden.
I know that’s not the point, but seeing that logic of “it was all Eve’s fault” always bugs me.

All I can come up with as an excuse to ban athletic shorts is that they are so baggy that, when working on some athletic equipment, you can see things that aren’t meant to be seen. But that wouldn’t have anything to do with girls, just the length and baggy legs of the clothing.
So just require the longer shorts with smaller leg holes.

When I was coaching high school sports I would sometimes have to ask female athletes to tuck in their shirts because they would ride up or billow open when doing certain exercises or skills. Not a big deal when handled professionally.

Maybe it’s the fact that you can “tell what religion” (I know it’s an old saying that doesn’t really apply in modern US) a man is when he wears athletic shorts. Personally, I never wore/wear athletic shorts or sweatpants in public because I don’t like displaying my genitals that clearly.

That’s awesome!
I didn’t realize 54% was a “dominating” proportion! Good to know.
Also, since we were talking about a high school AD, it’s good to know that only [about a third](https://nces.ed.gov/surveys/ntps/tables/Table_2_042717.asp) (from the same site) of high school principals are female. It only goes past 50% after elementary schools are included. Feel the domination!
It’s just amazing how statistics on elementary schools are totally relevant at the high school level.

Note that in public **high schools** , such as the one in the OP’s link, [principals are overwhelmingly male](https://nces.ed.gov/pubs2009/2009323/tables/sass0708_2009323_p12n_03.asp): 71.5%/28.5% male/female ratio for principals in public secondary schools, 60%/40% for combined elementary/secondary, and about 41%/59% for elementary alone.
So the alleged “female dominance” in “public school culture”, as manifested in principal gender ratios, is really just an artifact of the longstanding assumption that dealing with **young** children is “women’s business”. Once children get to be teenagers, it is still largely taken for granted that their highest-ranking authority figures will be male. (School district superintendents are [overwhelmingly male](https://www.edweek.org/ew/articles/2016/11/16/few-women-run-the-nations-school-districts.html) as well.)
