oh yeah, I missed the point I was going to make… outside of atmosphere means no sound, right (that is assuming I’m right about it being just outside the atmosphere)?

[This article](http://www.gi.alaska.edu/ScienceForum/ASF6/698.html) discusses it. I tend to believe it’s nonsense; it’s more likely that the overpowering visuals of a huge display would cause an auditory hallucination.
