Soooooo…big boy, where is the aforementioned upcoming thread about this? **Mr Bear** uses pussy a lot, though it’s hardly my favorite. I don’t usually call it anything but lonely. Er…oops. I call my SO’s naughty bits by a variety of names, depending on the time, place, and occassion. “Lovely,” if there’s a little romance in the air. “Pussy,” when things are at a simmer. The c-word when things are getting a bit rough and tumble. She doesn’t mind “that word” when used during such an encounter. I still like “ho ha” for general chatter. ---

General use: I say “cooter.” “Hoo-ha” works, too. (I picked that one up from the SDMB 🙂 ) I, too, dislike “pussy.” Perhaps the main reason for that is that “pussy” is one of my dad’s favorite nicknames for me. ( :eek: ) I suppose it is short for “pussycat,” but I don’t really know. He’s been calling me that my whole life, and he calls me that to this day. Boy was I surprised when I found out the “other” meaning of pussy. I really don’t want to call him on it, if you know what I mean. ---

Well, since **Cyn** mentioned **Tom Robbins** , in Still Life with Woodpecker I believe he called it “the peachfish.” And in Even Cowgirls Get the Blues he called it “the vertical smile.” ; ) ---

Thanks, **purplebear** 🙂 Today I found some more names for it in more languages: \*Haitian Creole & Louisiana Creole kòkòt Tagalog puki; kikì (I wonder if pop singer Kiki Dee ever visited the Philippines. _That_ would be interesting.) Maori teke; tore; puta; hika; putahikahika You can see the Maori are connoisseurs of the yoni. I imagine _puta_ and _hika_ are ordinary affectionate terms, but when they get really excited, they exclaim _puta-hika-hika_! “Vertical smile” is good, very good. 🙂 ---

I forget which T.R. Pearson book featured the character Elizabeth Jane Firesheets; her more desireable features were referred to as the "pink parts, the “white parts”, and “the plum-colored parts”. (I think most will be able to decipher the descriptions) “Mound of Venus” has a certain apppeal as well be I’m not certain we’re talking about the same specific region… ---

Back in my home country (Dominican Rep.) the private parts of a woman are usually referred as: Popola, Popita, or Cuca (it also refers to talking parrots, go figure). Toto is slang equivalent in English to Cunt (no wonder that band was never popular there). In English my definitive favorite is Pussy. ---

What language should I call it—Dominican Creole? **’Uigi** , the _mons Veneris_ (Mount of Venus) is the fatty pad just above the vulva, where most of the pubic hair grows. The top of the vulva begins just on the south slopes of the Mount. The clitoris (literally ‘little hill’) is right at the bottom of the Mount. A foothill in the feminine terrain, so to speak. I am on a neverending campaign not to call the vulva the vagina! The vagina is the passage inward. The vulva is what you can see from the outside. _Vulva_ is such a lovely word, why wouldn’t people use it? ---

There’s not such thing as Dominican Creole. It is plain good ol’ Spanish. That is just the local Slang. Popita is my favorite, it’s the word taught to kids and it has a cute tone. ---

I use **pussy** most often, but I have other names for it as well. I think **cunt** is fun to say… I guess that’s my German heritage. I can’t use it as an endearing term though. It has too good a use as a great insult towards women. Has anyone mentioned **twat**? I’m not particularly crazy about **beaver** , but the wife and I call it The **Beav** now and then. It gives it a nice ‘fun place to be’ sound. That came about because of a “Wally and the Beav” discussion. Ordinarily I wouldn’t call my ‘unit’ **Wally** , though. **Cooter** cracks me up. I think **cookies** is another good word. **Snatch** sounds evil to me. Like it’s going to snatch things off and eat them. I also want to throw my vote in for **box** and **trim**. ---

My friends and I like to use the word “snatch”. This word is pretty versitile too, like the saying “snatch in the box”. Examples: Kristin didn’t think she had sex with Don, but the next day, her snatch sure hurt. It’s 2a, I’m hungry, let’s go to Snatch in the Box. Man, after canoeing I sure looked like choad/chode. (off the subject, but amusing nonetheless). “Hey Amy, what’s up, snatch?” Mel asks. “Not much, chode-licker,” Amy replies. In a irritable state, Carrie calls Joe a snatch-in-the-box after he does something stupid. In conclusion, we believe that “snatch” is not an evil word, but a fun and exciting term to use. ---
