# TerraTech (upcoming game on Steam Early Access)

TerraTech. [There’s only a demo so far](http://terratechgame.com/) but I’ve been playing it for the past four hours and it’s tons of fun!

Early Access is expected to start in October. The finished game appears that it will be sort of like an RTS version of Spore’s Civilization stage with optional multiplayer. For now, the basic game starts out with you assembling a little four-wheeled light combat vehicle with a machine gun. Kill other vehicles to get more parts to add on to your light combat vehicle. My little 4 × 4 with a machine gun is now an 8 × 8 with tractor tires, four narrow beam lasers, one wide beam laser, a cannon, and that machine gun.

There’s a pre-made light combat vehicle that can be loaded to skip the tutorial and an undocumented feature (F11) will save your upgraded vehicle to be loaded later.

My only complaint is that there doesn’t seem to be any way to exit the game short of right-clicking on the taskbar.

I’m guessing Alt+F4 will close the game. Dunno why I didn’t think of that earlier.

Looked into Racing and Rocket modes before I went to bed. Didn’t do anything else with them but I gather in the former you build a fast vehicle and try to get it through a series of checkpoints while the latter is sort of a mini Kerbal Space Program.
