I don’t think I’ve ever posted a post count thing (party, whatever), but I will note the mundane passing of a board milestone for me. I just noticed I’ve been posting here for two years as of today. During that time I’ve met some (I think) 44 of y’all and have had _several_ fun evenings, afternoons and, for that matter, weekends. Some of y’all I’ve seen quite a few times (in a few different cities) and consider friends. And the others that I’ve only seen once or twice…, let me just say I’ve never had an ultimately bad Doper encounter. There are more I intend (or hope) to meet. And there’re more of y’all I’ve never met IRL with whom I still feel a degree of communication. Frankly, GQ is the primary drive that keeps me comin’, but I _do_ dally in these parts. I haven’t gotten to the point of letting Dopefests outstrip my other social endeavors, but I do attend’em. I’ve received some worthy knowledge here, both sought and of the browsed variety. I think I’ve contributed definitively to the answers to at least two questions (although I can’t remember what they were). I _do_ enjoy the fact that my personal interactions derived from this board cut across social traffic lanes. I am, here, in touch with manny peoples with whom I would have never otherwise enjoyed discourse. My life is quite different from what it was when I began here, and I’ve passed through the changes with some helpful commentary from y’all. Whoohoo (!), and I can actually recall various epochs in this board’s life. And y’all continue to surprise, amuse, impress and educate me. Let’s see…, if a post represents on average (what?) ~25 minutes of time devoted to the board (cruising, researching, composing, waiting on my @#!&%!! dial-up to reconnect, posting - hmmm, that number’s probably a bit light), then I’ve spent _two months_(!!!) of 24/7 time on the board the last two years! I don’t know where I’m going with this, and I’m not sure I want to get there… Anyway y’all, carry on (I’m sure, in keeping with tradition, there’s a typo up there somewhere). ---

You may’ve been the first person to comment on one of my (predictably rock-related) posts and I’ve always thought of you as the first person I met here, in the sense that you were probably the first to conduct a conversational exchange with me (I thought: “woah! Another one of us!”) Maybe someday I’ll make it out to Houston–a mere 9-hour drive. Stick around another year, maybe you’ll see me hit 300 posts! ---

I know I shouldn’t; but sometimes I bring up year old romance posts. You know someone who was dating someone back then saying how wonderful they are & now they have someone new & say how crappy the old person was. How did you get that specific handle beatle? ---
