Pretty sure it’s a hit piece. Shanghai is extremely draconian even for China. Covid outbreak and bam, everyone is locked down in place. Before the city wide lockdown, they had been locking down buildings or neighborhoods. So, if you’re in the factory and one person gets covid, then you’re in the factory (or building or whereever) for two weeks. It’s also possible in the Tesla case, that workers were given the option of staying in the factory to work and be paid, or could have gone back to the nearby government run dorm and been locked down without working.
I’m too lazy to look up the exact details. Someone that visited Disneyland tested positive a day later, and every person in Disneyland had to test negative before being allowed to leave.
