Wow, as I was reading the paragraph I was thinking, “This is the kind of crap that would put me to sleep in 6 minutes”, which is exactly how much Game of Thrones I have read.
I got 252 words per minute, about average.

600 wpm. Which makes sense… if I have a superpower, reading fast is it.
459 wpm at my normal reading speed, and it said I could read 42 books per year, which is just about right.
325 wpm at normal “reading carefully” speed (not trying to skim or speed-read or anything.) I’m actually a little surprised, because I don’t think I’m faster than average when it comes to reading. Boring-ass crap, though.
7800 words per minute (I immediately hit “done” and guessed all the questions correctly from context and the first line of the text). The accuracy of this metric may be suspect in this case.
I thought I’d be in the “crazy-fast” category! I read a ton (probably close to 100 books per year), and always figured I was a fast reader. But either I’m not, or this is just one more unreliable and somewhat pointless internet test of…something. Also 74 books per year at 1 hour and 10 minutes per day.
I have never read Game of Thrones, whatever that is.
459 for me. I slowed down a little to make sure I got the detail of the paragraph. Normally I read in chunks (whole sentences or small paragraphs at once). I finished all of the big Harry Potter books on the day they came out (I didn’t start reading the series until Book 4 was coming out).
In other news, I’m pretty sure I would hate Game of Thrones, so I don’t care how long it would take me to read it.
709 WPM and that was holding back a bit to make sure I picked up details.
According to them:
I read it in 7 days.
Game of Thrones is a currently popular medieval fantasy TV series on HBO that’s based on the “Song of Ice and Fire” novels by George R. R. Martin. At the moment, it’s 5 roughly 1000 page novels, with at least 2 more planned, possibly 3.
(The reason the books get called “Game of Thrones” is because that’s the title of the TV show and the title of the first novel in the series.)
I got 236 words per minute, but the test made such a big deal about reading for accuracy that I slowed way down. Then it turns out the questions were really basic, I thought they were going to be really tough based on the intro.
For the record, I think I read Game of Thrones in like 10 days, but the last one in the series took me like a year, god that book was dull.
Huh. Link won’t work on a netbook running windows 7. I read about 15 books a year. Mostly on my phone.
557 WPM. I find that I sometimes skim and sometimes read every word, though, depending on the book and what’s happening in the book.
