Apparently not. The coding looks OK, but the thread title came out wrong. Cut-paste the title into here: Test thread: [del]can you do strike-thru in thread titles?[/del] Did this work? ETA: Yes, so the problem is that you can’t do that in a thread title. ---

Does it work in the title of a post that isn’t the OP? ETA: No! Apparently, a Title is a Title, and it doesn’t matter if it’s the thread title or a post title. ---

Correct. You also can’t code to bold or itals in a thread title. ---

I think the reason coding in general is disabled in titles is that it’d make a mess of things if anyone ever tried to put a link in a title (since the titles themselves are links, on the forum page).
