It’s like those things on the radio. At one time, you’d hear a “two-toned” sound. Now you hear a`weird thing that I can only describe as “fax machine type of sound.”
What I’ve never been able to understand is how they know if the test was successful or not. Once I called the radio station and told them that the test “didn’t work right.”
They asked me, “Why do you say that?”
And I said, “I just know about these things. Trust me. Your ‘test’ didn’t work. You’d better get it checked out now.”
I still do it from time to time. And, to be honest, I’ve been through earthquakes, riots, and rampant fires, and I’ve yet to hear one of these “tests…with further information.”
