Trying to get the font to do that trademarkTM thingie. I’m part of the way there - how do I raise the type up a little bit to “float” it?

Two ways to do that. One, general to any character is the SUP code, for a SUPerscript (similarly, SUB for a SUBscript, below the baseline). Code it just like other VB pseudo-HTML codes:

[**sup]SUPerscript[/sup**]normal[sub\*\*\*\*]SUBscript[/sub\*\*\*\*]

…will look like this: [sup]SUPerscript[/sup]normal[sub]SUBscript[/sub]

Or use the ALT code for ™ only. (Just for PCs, dunno how to do it on Macs.) Hold down the ALT key, type 0153 on the keypad ( **must** be the keypad) then release the ALT key. You should then see:

™

[A reference for other codes](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=26695)

Have fun!

The third way, as Lobsang demonstrated, is to use the HTML sequence ™ - ™

&amp#153 works, too: &#153

A list of these is at [http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/reference/special\_characters/](http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/reference/special_characters/) .

The following is from my saved copy of a list Arnold Winkelried originally generated (with a little reformatting by me).

What was the spread anyways?
