I find that the board is finicky with stuff like this. For example, if I paste in an emoji and immediately post it, it will come out fine on the other end (assuming the user has an emoji font installed). But if I paste the emoji and then preview the post, the emoji is lost. vBulletin 3 just doesn’t seem to be Unicode safe, especially in the outer areas. I may use an accent here or there, or IPA symbols (because people insist on them), but I otherwise tend to avoid them. I stick with the smilies if I need them. ---
