# Texaco

Why would an All-American company like Texaco use a RED STAR as its trademark? Could there possibly be TEXA-COMMIES at work here?

Texaco’s red star dates back to 1903 (i.e. before a red star became associated with communism). See [http://www.texaco.com/sitelets/history/](http://www.texaco.com/sitelets/history/). In any case, the logo on their web page (which I assume is their current logo) is a red T on a WHITE star on a red background.
