Thai Social Etiquette

I’ll also chime in to say that, while I’ve seen a few dodgy things in Thailand (and I’ve spent a lot of time there over the last twelve years), I’ve never seen evidence of a child sex trade. It’s one of those things that is an easy cliché to trot out, which may once have had a basis in reality, but is no longer generally correct.

As to that guide - is it actually contemporary? If so, it’s absolutely ridiculous. And hilarious.

I get the feeling they just went round a (really small) office in the civil service and asked them what they did or didn’t like.

Personally, I don’t chide my inferiors when in company - I just give them withering looks. Then when my guests leave, I beat them like dogs.

Where can I buy a copy?

JUST published. I’ll ask the wife where they can be found. Follow that link to the Chang Noi column in the newspaper, and you’ll see what it’s in reaction to.

Siam Sam
I guess Hua Hin is OK. I tend to dislike the place as the last time I went there some drunk accosted my wife, voices were raised, and then we got in a fairly serious scuffle. (Me and the guy that is, not me and the wife! :stuck_out_tongue: )

Of course it´ll fly here!, to the contrary of certain rumors that have been circulating, the principles of ballistics have not been banned by the goverment.

The wife says: “In a bookstore.” Gee, who woulda thought?

Sorry to hear about the scuffle, but give it another chance. It’s a much more relaxing place than Pattaya or some of the other beach areas.

There is something perverse yet beautiful about that statement.
