I get to work on Solaris all day - so I’m quite lucky. In fact, command line is so powerful that there are cases where it makes sense to insert shell commands inside Perl scripts, because certain things can be done much faster this way.
Yes it does. Terminal is a fully integrated command line for the Mac. Has been since pre-2006 which is when I first started using a Mac in earnest.
In fact, was working on the command line on my student’s computer the other day. Her officemate looked over and comes out with “I don’t know what she’s doing, but its really freaking cool”

It’s based on Free BSD.
It’s had a command line since 1999 (2001 if you only count consumer versions).
