# Thank goodness I'm off Doxazosin

No more troubles sleeping. No insomnia. My sleep pattern has just about returned to normal and I’m not habitually waking up after 09:00 (sometimes after 10:00 :eek:).

And I had nightmares for 2 nights when I stopped taking it but before taking the new medicine.

I am relieved.

(Not asking for advice; I’m under the care of the local doctors.)

Ooh. An alpha blocker. Not one of the fun ones with side effects.

I’m curious how they do it in the UK. Had they tried other BP lowering pills before the alphas?

And are you off because your BP is better or due to the side effects?

Yes. This was in addition to Felodipine, It was replacing another medicine whose name I don’t have to hand which also had sleep-related side-effects.

It was the side-effects. I find out about my BP when I visit the doctor later this week.
