Not sure how kosher it is for someone who hasn’t been here for a year to take to task someone who’s been here just a wee bit longer. You don’t know for a fact that he isn’t Sandy Koufax. If Curt Schilling can have nutty political opinions, why would be harder to believe about any other Hall-of-Fame-talent pitcher? ---

Gotta agree with **Clothahump** - what did **koufax** say that was wrong? Streep applauds someone who drugged and anally raped a thirteen year old girl, but spends her whole speech condemning Trump for making fun of a reporter. That seems like a legitimate point to me. Regards, Shodan ---

Meryl Streep (and thousands of other people) did the former. Nobody, AFAIK, has done the latter. Even for conservatives, it really shouldn’t be so difficult to see the distinction between these two very different things. And, as I pointed out earlier, it’s rather remarkable to suddenly see Trump supporters taking the crime of sexual assault seriously. :dubious: ---

I think it started on some alt-right blogs, and the Usual Gang of Idiots decided to drag it into the SD. While I couldn’t call myself a fan of drugged child anal-rape, I do recognize Polanski as an artist of stature who has made many films I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. If I was in the room when he got an award, I’d clap too. I also adore the music (and libretti) of Richard Wagner, though I don’t condone wife-stealing, massive egotism, or being an anti-Semitic goofus. ---
