I suppose the response is slightly positive in the sense that Trump supporters are _trying_ to cling to dignity. The alternative of “Yeah, Trump’s scum. We know. Who cares.” might not be much better as it would show they’ve decided civility is casually irrelevant. Maybe that’ll be a major tell, when Trump supporters start to respond with “[shrug] Whatever.” instead of flimsy _ad homimen_ counter-attacks. Maybe by then they’ll be too fatigued with trying to defend Trump to bother with the token efforts. Just speculating, of course, but if the signs are there by the end of this year, maybe careful optimism of Democrats retaking Congress will be in order. ---

You think big city liberals live in a bubble? You ain’t seen NOTHING until you see the bubble that Hollywood lives in. Particularly the actors/actresses. The writers , directors, etc are super liberal in a lesbian dance theory sort of way but he actors and actresses are nucking futz. The industry makes them think they are important people because they are good at acting when in fact they are no more important or insightful that professional athletes, rock stars, Kim Kardashian or any other media celebrity. ---
