# Thanks Brain. This happens often enough to me that if I have a serious work problem, I purposely start mulling it over before the deadline enough to get my brain working on it, and I often will have an epiphany several hours or days later. Two Many Cats, did they say what the answer was? My impression is that McCartney and Lennon are the most charted songwriters in history. ---

I don’t know the answer because I changed the radio station. There’s only so many annoying voiced commercials with rapid fire disclaimers denying everything just said that I can stand. I looked up Curtis Mayfield on Wikipedia, and the man did write a crapload of songs. Whether he had more chart hits than John, Paul, Elton, and Bernie, I really couldn’t say. I was quite surprised he wrote nothing for the movie _Car Wash_ though. _I Wanna Get Next to You_ has his style all over it. ---

My radio station posts the answers to the trivia on their website after the quiz. You could check your station’s site. StG ---

I once spent an entire weekend remembering the name Marvin Gaye only during the moments I was alone. I suppose the fact that I had both pencil and paper physically on my person most of that time was just an ironic twist that I didn’t notice. Tris P. S. I have a “mean brain” story, too! Back when the NES was the only Nintendo console, I was playing a simple little game called [Adventures\_of\_Lolo](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adventures_of_Lolo). Got totally stuck on this one level. I could NOT determine the way out. I tried repeatedly, and in between game sessions, begged my brain to figure out the answer. Brain pretended to make the effort, but kept asking, “Have you tried solution ‘A?’” “Yes.” “How about ‘B’ or ‘C?’” “Yes.” “Are you SURE you tried ‘A?’” “YES!! It’s NOT that one!” As I sank into despair, I failed to notice my brain smirking in silence. That evening I sought comfort in the arms of my dearest husband. The lights low, I closed my eyes as the “bom-chicka-wow-wow” music softly began to play. 'Twas the moment my sadistic brain had been waiting for. As the music swelled and I began to lose myself in the moment, I heard the intruding sound of a trumpet blast, and the lights blazed inside my mind as Brain triumphantly shouted, “THIS is the solution!” “What? You’re telling me this NOW?! Why you little–!” As Brain snickered and retreated, I realized fully the nature of this insidious act. Not only had it distracted me from the moment at hand, it had given me the answer at a time I could not implement it. I forced down the urge to jump from the bed, run to the Nintendo, and see if it worked. By sheer dint of will, I turned my attention back to more important matters and was once again able to lose myself in the attentions of my lover. I did have the last laugh, however. In its haste to escape, Brain forgot to hide the solution away again, and at a more appropriate time, I returned to the game and was indeed able to solve the puzzle! ---
