Thanks for nothing, DNC

Um, you win by defending people’s civil liberties, you dumb fuck.

What? Is the First Amendment printed on your toilet paper?

Fuck you, and get off your high horse. Asshole.

Gah, I hate that I’m voting for Kerry. I swear, I mean the whole reason I finally decided to do so was in the outside hope that he might at least slow the erosion of our civil liberties. But it is becoming increasingly clear that leftists have joined rightists in that regard.

Don’t vote for him then. And prove that this is an “erosion of civil liberties” some more. You still haven’t. I see something to do with public safety or security siezed on by a bunch of partisan hacks.

El Cid, wherever you are, you were right.

By the way, did you know that somewhere a child is hungry? Where is John Kerry??? I thought he CARED???

…he said, clearly in keeping with his insistence that he’s not bashing Democrats or, y’know, blaming them for anything. Oh no.

Seriously, you’re being a right tit (as they also say here in England). Do you not see at all how your OP might have got peoples’ hackles up and made them slightly less willing to dribble all over the heinous violation of inalienable rights you have so searingly exposed?

I tell you what, though; I’m prepared to bet that most of the Democrats here (of which I am not one, incidentally) would be willing to do you a swap. You don’t vote for Kerry, and you shut the fuck up with these ludicrous threads that seemingly serve only to indicate how righteously disdainful you are about doing so. It seems that the additional risk of a second Bush term would be a small price to pay.

Again with the not-blaming-Democrats-for-the-banner-thing, I see.

At last I finally found a picture of the banner. I don’t see what the big deal is, about it, but I’m still curious what the supposed violation is. I think he just had to get a permit (which may not have had a charge) and didn’t bother. They haven’t made him take it down and may not fine him. Huge outrage. Pasquale thumbed his nose at the law, and got a citation.

By the way, the chief complaint of Pasquale’s “Thanks for Nothing DNC!” Is that he didn’t profit off the convention. I thought Republicans hated those feelings of entitlement.

Oh, and while we’re cross-quoting:

Damn him and his lack of omniscience! Couldn’t post that sweet little comeback here, though, because we’re officially Not Blaming Kerry, just having a go at the Dems in some loosely-defined but clearly damning manner.

Funnily enough, I can’t find a quote from Badnarik bemoaning Pasquale’s plight either. How on earth could this be? I don’t know, maybe it’s because there’s approximately two to three small stories on it on the entire fricking internet. But I’m sure as dammit going to hold it against him! Damn the Libertines!

These ludicrous threads? There are a bazillion threads bashing Bush. There are threads bashing people bashing Bush. There are threads bashing people bashing people bashing Bush. I open one thread hoping to join other liberals in condemning an attack on civil liberties. I am very proud of the few who have, and I’m not surprised at the ones who haven’t.

I want a sandwich. I could make it myself, but why can’t Kerry make it for me? Is Mr. Big Shot nominee to out of touch with the little guy to make him a sandwich? It really makes me puke that I have to vote for him.

Call Michael Moore. He likely has two in each fist.

Lib, some lessons learned:
Liberals are no more interested in civil liberties than anyone else, except when being so will score political or ideological points.

Sacred cows make real good burgers, if you know what temperature to cook 'em at.

(But) no one has the slightest sense of proportion when their ox is being gored.

It’s always easier to attack the messenger than the message.

(And perhaps most importantly) sarcasm, irony, and dry-as-toast humor is lost on most.

Nah, I’m going to vote for him anyway since my vote won’t make a difference one way or the other. If he’s as far removed from people like you as you say he is, then that’s a plus for him in my book.

Civil liberies my ass. He could pay for the fucking permit, and didn’t. He was given a piece of paper and ignored it. Nothing has happened. The sign is still up, fer chrissakes.

Meanwhile, the Yankees-RedSox game that was supposed to be on Fox has been replaced with a Cubs-Phillies game. Do you suppose that Kerry’s henchment caught wind of a Republican-themed banner at Fenway and swooped in to shut down the ballpark? Given no evidence to the contrary, I’ll just assume it’s true and take to the streets in outrage.

Hard lessons, but you’re right, my old friend. Have you been talking to El Cid?

Yes, there certainly are an awful lot of Bush-bashing threads. It’s worth noting that a fair number of them get the same sort of response this thread is getting. The ones started by Reeder, for example.

Might want to meditate on that a little bit, Liberal.

Are you making the point that had, say, Poly posted the identical OP that shit slingers like Skutir would be posting in support of it?

Since the banner is still up and nothing has happened to Pasquale, I can’t imagine some relating of the events that would compel me to believe it was an outrage of civil liberties. You haven’t proved anything – not that this is an outrage, not that Kerry should even know, let alone care, not that I’ve been unreasonable in my non-outrage, nothing. You’ve not always been this much of a tit, liberal, but a tit you are and I’m going to go do something meaningful rather than talk to a tit.
