Or you could just forget about it altogether. You won’t believe the shit I get in my inbox sometimes, although not necessarily related to this site. If you’re prolific, and opinionated, you’re bound to piss some people off. Mind you, it’s their own insecurity and dissatisfaction that prompts them to send mails like these. It is pathetic, but hardly anything to worry about. The price we pay for this medium. Drainy, the guy’s probably jerking off to this thread right now. You’ve given him exactly what he wants. My advice would be twofold: 1. Delete. 2. Block Sender. ---

Is it not possible that this e-mail was sent to you by mistake, Drain Bead? I’m guessing e-mail names with ‘maia’ in them are probably not uncommon (this would also explain why this infantile rant was clearly addressed to a female; most guys wouldn’t use ‘maia’ as part of their e-mail address). The fact that you’ve never heard of this bozo adds support to this theory. I know I’ve gotten a number of e-mails out of the blue from people I don’t know. It was pretty clear from reading them that they simply got the address wrong, and didn’t intend to send them to me. Anyway, it’s just another possibility…one that might make it easier to do what others have already suggested: fuggetaboudit and move on. ---

Still very annoying and they’re obviously an asshole, but ignore it. I would send hugs, but that isn’t very pit-like! I got two crank phone calls shortly after getting my mobile phone, but they stopped at two - I assumed it was kids & they probably do two or three because that is too few for people to bother going to the cops, then they move onto someone else… I nearly went to the police anyway, since otherwise they’lljust continue to harrass people and the next time it might be someone who couldn’t cope so well, but I had too much other shit hitting the fan at the same time & I couldn’t face any more hassle… ---

**DB** , Head over to [http://www.spamCop.net](http://www.spamCop.net) and register for their free service. You bookmark a page they create just for you, then when you receive mail like that, simply C&P the Header and text into the form and click send. They automatically forward the offense report to the originating ISP and anyone else they can think of. You know what would really be shitty? If it’s spammers trying to hook valid addresses. They’ve already tried the Here-is-the-info-you-requested trick. They’ve already tried the comforting-reply-to-a-dear- friend’s-email “sent” to the “wrong” person. Here’s an idea! Send bulk flames; you _know_ you’ll get replies from some of them! Not our Drainy, of course, but \ if were it true, lord help us and what are they gonna come up with next? ---

Heh. That sucks Drain… but if you ever want to swap hate mail, I have a whole section of it on my site ;D I usually report them to their ISP, then send a followup about a week later to find out if action had been taken. ---
