Auditor type didnā€™t have time for me so all that stressing for nothing. Not that I have anything to worry about but a load off anyway. Probably why he did not take the time to harass me. This has been a really long week. A rat my cat drug in alive and stayed for a while finally made his exit today. He was holed up in the tv he was living in and he killed. I saw something tonight that is bugging the shit out of me, so pardon me while I unload. VWife and I patronize a Chinese restaurant run by HTG Chinese immigrants. There is a kid there weā€™ve sort of adopted; I take him Gummi Bears and the like when I go in, and he gets a Christmas present each year. Ben is a 4th grader for reference. So, tonight I went to pick up an order, and a squeeze bottle hit the door when I opened the other one. I looked just in time to see Ben get clocked on the head be one of the cooks, who Iā€™ve assumed is his uncle. I am unsure of the family relationships. This really pissed me off, but I kept my mouth shut, paid for my order, and left. After I got home, I was really livid, and I went back to examine Ben. The side of his face and his ear was not swollen or red, so there was not any injury to report. I tried to get him to talk to me, but he wouldnā€™t, and his mom was in the dining room anyway. He had a running conversation with her in Chinese. What really bugged me was he exhibited many telltales of a battered person, as drilled into us in EMT school. In the end, Iā€™ve done nothing except unload on yā€™all. I did not see what prompted the smack down. They are of another culture, and if Ben had been turned over a knee like I was instead, I would not be whining here. Even if I called the sheriff, there was no obvious injury. Iā€™ve decided that the next time I see the cook, Iā€™ll tell him that if I ever see him hit Ben like that again, heā€™ll be shitting his teeth for a week and Iā€™ll swear out a battery complaint on him. Over or under reacting? ---

I finally gave up yestiddy and just went to bed. I stayed there the rest of the day. I actually do feel better this morninā€™ although not great. I shall betake myself to the irkplace. Ick. You know the sitch better than I but it seems that the Uncle/Cook needs a reminder that OUR rules apply now, not just his. Tread carefully but be firm. As much as I would like to demonstrate my mad dental skills on such a person threats are probably unwise. I assume that you still have friends in the Bambulance community, drop a dime and let them know what you saw, not a formal report but a heads up. If you witness it again, call the cops. Ack- after last timeā€™s ā€˜car doing weird stuffā€™ episode turned out to be nuttinā€™, Iā€™ve not been worried so much this time it started making funny noises. I thought the exhaust was a bit loose, and was rattling- it turns out itā€™s basically rusted through, and will largely need replacing (my parents drove old rustbuckets, and that was what it sounded like). Expected to cost Ā£250. By contrast, my income this week will be the princely sum of Ā£28. There goes my Christmas moneyā€¦ ---

**Bobbio** , re Ben and his uncle - I agree with **Jim**. I would stop short of threatening the uncle, just let him know what you saw and that those with the power to stop him will be watching (I guess thatā€™s a threat, but not of bodily harm) If you do take your ire out on the uncle, the uncle could have you arrested, defense of a third party not withstanding.
