Last night, on the way home from work, a little after midnight, I got pulled over by the State Highway Patrol. I was already really tired, and in a bad mood. I have never before gotten a ticket, but that changed. I was going 69 in a 55, but I thought it was a 65. I told him that. Then, I learned that my plates were expired. (My parents own the car, so it isn’t my responsibility to update them, in addition, I wasn’t aware of them being expired). Apparently I had been driving that car illegally for 4 months. That surprised the hell outta me. Then, on top of all that, I didn’t have my license with me. To make a long story short, the cop let the speed AND the not having my license thing slide, and just wrote me up for expired plates. It’s a small 65 dollar fee, and I have to renew my plates. Sure, I am upset that it happened, but it could have been a lot worse. Maybe Cincinnati cops aren’t so bad after all. ---

There, there. Trust me, $65 is NOT a lot. You could have been worse off. Just ask Mr Wolf, who got a $200 ticket for running a red light, and a $200 ticket for not having proof of current insurance in the car. ---
