This is why my old job eventually banned birthday celebrations. They were being done forever on an informal and rather haphazard basis, but it came to a head when one particularly unlikeable girl’s birthday came around, and no one really noticed or cared. And by “particularly unlikeable” I mean “nasty lazy whiny useless sack of crap”. That hurt her feelings, and it was decided to just drop the whole thing.

When you hit your 25th anniversary at work and receive no recognition for that whatsoever, THEN you can bitch. I mean, sure bosses aren’t obligated to recognize employee anniversaries and such, but it’d be nice ya know? 25 years is a long time. :rolleyes:

I know, I need a new job. Sigh.
