There has been an adage in pro ball that on any Sunday any team can beat another team. We are proving that to be mistaken. The whole league is set up to prevent a bad team from happening. Between revenue sharing and making sure that the bad teams get the best draft choices, it is difficult to stay at the bottom for a long time. You have to admire the Lion owners for managing such a difficult task. It is an impressive bit of consistently poor management. Once we fire a coach ,he does not coach again. They sink into the Lion swamp. Sometimes I think they built the stadium on an old Indian burial ground. we need an exorcist. ---

They could be the worst team ever. Nobody has gone 0-16. They are not close. They are near bottom in all defensive categories. The offense is too. ---

This just further enhances my theory that people fall asleep after eating turkey on the couch not because they are stuffed and sleepy, but because they are forced to watch the Lions attempt to play football! Which begs the question: why do the same flipping teams have to keep playing and sucking on Thanksgiving? I suppose it’s tradition and all, but can’t the NFL put together a better rotation? If you’re not going to schedule two traditionally good teams to play one another on Thanksgiving, why not schedule two traditionally BAD teams to play each other so at least the games have entertainment value? Bengals versus Lions would have been far more interesting than watching a surefire playoff team kicking the snot out of the crappy Lions. Or maybe the Cowboys could have played the Titans and the Seahawks could have played the Lions instead? I did think the Eagles Cardinals game was going to be the best one, and with the way the Eagles had been playing lately, I thought they’d be hard-pressed to win. Boy was that a blowout. ---

I’m surprised that Coach Fisher didn’t have the Titans go for a field goal there at the last. I think the Lions are to him what little toy soldiers are to boys who have outgrown their little toy soldiers. He still has them but doesn’t have the heart any more. I was thinking of submitting my resume to the Lion’s for any position out there. Hell, even as General Manager I feel I could do a better job.
