Methinks the **Heap** doth protest too much. And the only thing better than Donna in a Catholic school uniform would be Jackie in a Catholic school uniform. Or both of them, together…at the same time…mmmmmmmm… ---

I think it should just be That Red Show. Kurtwood Smith is one of my favorite actors. Or maybe my favorite. And Clarence Boddicker is my absolute favorite baddie of all time. “You can keep the gum.” Heh. ---

Shouldn’t it be 1980 on the show yet? It started in 1976, during the presidential campaign. Then the following year they dealt with _Star Wars_, which came out in 1977, so apparently they were moving forward in real time. The first year was funny as hell, but they seem to have been repeating the same jokes since then. Also, the show seems to have lost its sense of time and place, and become a generic sitcom with no particular cultural setting. That’s too bad for me, since I was born in 1960 and would be the same age as the teenage characters. (I’ve read that 1960 was the peak birthyear for the U.S.; more people born in this country than in any other year before or since. So there must be others here.) ---

It is 1978 on the show, you can tell by looking at the license sticker at the end of the show. As for how time in advancing on the show, they are moving forward, but not at the rate of a year per season (after all, Eric’s been at least 16 since the start of the show in 1998). On the other hand, it sure seems as if Jackie has magically caught up in age with the rest of the kids. I’m a bit worried that the show will go rapidly downhill when they inevitably have to move the kids off to college and have to separate Red and Kitty and Bob from the mix. ---
