Well, Kris Kristofferson indeed performed his composition, but (at least according to [this page](http://www.geocities.com/bettyloucountry3/meandbobby.htm)) referred to Bobby as “her” when he recorded the song. Then again, [this site](http://www.guntheranderson.com/v/data/meandbob.htm) suggests Kris sang Janis Joplin’s version of the lyrics on at least one occasion. I still have my old vinyl album that contains[Gordon Lightfoot’s](http://www.corfid.com/gl/Albums/If_You_Could_Read_My_Mind/Me_And_Bobby_McGee.htm) take on the tune, so I know that Gord refers to Bobby as female. When Melissa Etheridge decided to cover the song, there was some speculation as to whether she’d use masculine or feminine pronouns to refer to Bobby. As I recall, some of Melissa’s concert versions acknowledged Etheridge’s own lesbianism, while others featured Janis’s heterosexual interpretation of the lyrics.

Upon further review, I see **Fish42** beat me to _You Light Up My Life_. I also believe someone got btw12, which is _Always and Forever_ by Heatwave. ddg-11 is Billy Joel’s _Stiletto_.

Ding, ding, ding! It’s been driving me nuts, but I remember now:

Suse5) Answer to all answers I can find - is _Could It Be Magic_ by Barry Manilow.

ast19- “Stopping at her house is a neighbour boy with evil on his mind.” - I answered th is one a while back, it’s that creepy _Angie Baby_ by Helen Reddy

Now then. A few new ones:

k10 - I’ve never really done this kind of thing before, have you?
k11 - I’m going to build myself a house in the shade…
k12 - makes promises she can’t keep
k13 - how I love you, mad as I think you are
k14 - she’s so many women

It’s the same song that this comes from:

BG11- Trying to keep up his courage by applying booze

NDP 5 is: It’s Hard To Be A Saint In The City

How I missed that I’ll never know. I must have listened to that album 1000 times when it came out.

I answered this one a while back:

ast25- “Needing me now is something I could use.”

_Midnight Blue_ by Melissa Manchester

I’ll renumber my old songs and provide still more clues:

btw20 - Somehow I knew it would be you, To change my gray skies to blue
And it was strange when you called my name, Ever since that day I haven’t been the same
Before I met you my sun didn’t want to shine

btw21 - I played all my cards, and that’s what you’ve done too
Nothing more to say, no more ace to play
I don’t wanna talk, if it makes you feel sad
And I understand - you’ve come to shake my hand

And still more songs:

btw22 - Do you want to see me crawl across the floor to you
btw23 - You always said the cards would never do you wrong
btw24 - I was shakin’ like a leaf on a tree
btw25 - You’re the right kind of sinner to release my inner fantasies
btw26 - I can see you’re out of aces
btw27 - My love is vengeance / That’s never free
btw28 - This’ll be the end today / Of the wanted man
btw29 - Your prison is walking through this world all alone
btw30 - You got me stealin’ your love away / 'Cause you never give it
