Barry Humphries, the performer best known as Dame Edna Everage, [clocked a papparazzo](http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060503/ap_en_ot/dame_edna) today.

I’ve read John Lahr’s book on Humphries. He’s enormously talented but he can be a mean sonofabitch.

It must be the week for Barry Humphries news.

[Barry busts $70,000 Dame Edna statue](http://www.news.com.au/story/0,10117,18985094-1243,00.html). Barry’s vetoed a Dame Edna statue right before it gets unveiled. Naturally, the sculpter is pretty pissed off.
