All right now, I’m laughing. I am not supposed to be laughing. Start packing, everybody. **OtakuLoki,** I would love to be unemployed and fat with you. But what is Elixer? **Ethilrist,** the sitcom is not a bad idea. Who will be my love interest, who, despite being shockingly attractive and extremely together in his or her life, still thinks I’m worth the trouble? \*\*Mr. Roboto, \*\* I know, I know. But I try very hard not to whine, so I’m taking this one chance to do it now and get it over with. Great idea on the commune. I did consider that aspect of the running, \*\*Askance, \*\* assuming I survive the running. I should be in great shape when I’m done. ---

I should have known. I survive on a lesser elixir myself. A clear, uncaffeinated one. I’m a lightweight with regard to caffeine, if in no other way, so I try to avoid it. Me uncaffeinated is quite enough. (And caffeine-free Coke just seems so wrong.) ---

Bumping my own thread, I know, I know… I finally got a chance to talk to my best friend from high school today, and she’s told me that if I decide to head back to Pennsylvania, she’ll keep an eye out for work and/or a dwelling place for me. So, I am ever so much more cheery now. ---

I have a job I can live with, pack about 15 extra pounds, have a car that is 90% reliable, Nice apartment in a nice part of town, 3 cool kids, 3 kitties, 4 gerbils and can accout for 4 of the 8 fish (not counting “bob” the snail…I think he may be dead). I have a SO I can live happily without. And you know what? I wanna run away too! Trouble is, anywhere you go, there you are. And that’s who we really want to run from. So many of us turn to Dope. **Harimad-sol** (what in God’s name does that mean anyway???), you owe it to The Dopers to create a Fantasy Island Thread for us to run away to. This place is the only escape the most desperate of us have, give us a place to go. ---

**Harimad-sol** : Didn’t you post a photo on one of the picture threads months ago? IIRC, you didn’t look particularly fat. And ISTR you’re cute. So enough of that. Wanna see fat? You should se _me!_😛 But I know how you feel. Jobs are scarce here in NoWA. No SO. Can’t afford to fly helicopters. (But I do have a couple of cars and motorcycles, and a house. So I’m okay there.) Still, I often feel like running away. I want to sell the bulk of my stuff (a slow process, but I’m doing it), finish the film we’re working on, get my MGB out of restoration, and get the hell outta Dodge. I think I’ll just settle for a trip to London or Dublin or someplace after the film is done. ---

I know what it’s like to pick up and go somewhere you’ve never been. I just haven’t done it by myself before. It seems a radical solution but it may be what I would need, if Pennsylvania turns out not to be the right place. It’s good to live in such a big country, though–one can move thousands of miles without having to hassle with changing money and such. I dunno if I’m ready for the goat, though. ---
