> My answer is “of course not,” for the same reason I don’t go out drinking or to museums with _married_ women.

> Why not? As a straight married male, I have married women friends with whom I have common interests in history, photography, drama, art and food. Of course I go to bars and museums with them; also on trips to functions in distant cities, sailing, and to countless dinners and myriad plays.

Yes, but you go Dutch with these women, don’t you? And it is transparent to all that it is friendship, no more, no less, isn’t it? That’s the difference with TLB.

Otherwise, your desciption of having such good woman friends felt good to read. Sometimes I despair that friendship between the sexes is truly impossible, and that the word friendship is an euphemism always meaning “a relationship that has yet failed to materialize”.
