Oh, is there a spider on the phone’s screen? See, I thought the point was that the woman was screaming in horror at her boyfriend’s appalling breach of etiquette, putting a cell phone on the table at a restaurant, and her dad was teaching the punk some manners by destroying the offending object. ---

Honest mistake, but when the dishwasher was suddenly bubbling furiously, she started panicking. Solution? Similar to the commercial…just stop the dishwasher, which she, my father-in-law, and my sister-in-law could not figure out. Fortunately, I got home before my kitchen was awash in dish soap. ---

I don’t see how showing another demographic as incompetent would make this commercial any less asshole-ish, nor how (apparently) the genetics on your wife’s side can be used to “prove” that a majority of women are completely idiotic. Or, maybe a majority of the population of both sexes and all ages has dropped a hundred IQ points, since it seems that most of the commercials I see these days are aimed at third graders… ---

It doesn’t pay to get upset when it is the woman is stereotyped as opposed to when the man is stereotyped. Both sexes are negatively stereotyped in commercials for comedic effect (which often fails) with alarming regularity. ---
