When I was about 6 or 7 I pissed my brother off and he took a swing at me with a box of Saran Wrap. Well, at that point in my life I had never seen that much blood and I freaked. Today, 30 or so years later, I still have a doozy of a scar on my right hand from where the jagged metal bastards cut into me. ---

It’s true…double so for Saran Wrap which is impossible to cut to begin with. I’ve never thrown away an empty wrap box that wasn’t completely flat and structureless. We can put a Rover on Mars and can’t keep a wrap box together?!?! For shame! I guess you have to get one of those horrible wrap dispensers like you see in 1950’s houses that mount to the wall. Blech. ---

**Quasi,** it’s high time you found yourself a wife. Damn, you just leverage the box (not squashing it) - and carefully pull the foil out, being careful not to slice off your fingers in the process. How hard is that? Disclaimer: actual loss of fingers occurs 80% of the time, according to recent studies. ---

**Quasi** mate I love you - first laugh I’ve had all day. Thank-you. We got a box of cling wrap - catering size, 600m of the damn stuff - and the frickin box started falling apart in the first month. I used packing tape on it and it is still going strong a year later. ---

When I first came to Australia, I saw that the foil and plastic wrap boxes don’t have the metal serrated edge that I was used to - it’s just ripple edged cardboard. I couldn’t see how you were supposed to tear anything on something that looked so ineffectual, so just stared dumbly at it for a while until someone demonstrated it for me. It made me look like a complete doofus, which I have never personally lived down. ---
