Back when my job mostly consisted of tasks that didn’t require me to hear what was going on around me, I used to listen to CDs a lot (this was before I had an MP3 player). I was listening to the cast recording of My Fair Lady one day and totally oblivious to the fact that my earbuds had come loose from my computer, during “Quit, Professor Higgins!”, which is well outside the bounds of pop. My nearby coworkers were raising eyebrows, as if they wanted to say “WTF?!” ---

They’re excellent. Played them for some friends the other night and the responses were generally amused. And maybe a bit bemused as well. I’ve recently been into outsider music in kind of a big way.
