lots of good purchases - mine are kind of mundane
my iMac, for one - with peripherals $1900 well spent
my car - '99 Ford Taurus, new (my first non-pre-owned vehicle) still runs like it’s straight off the showrrom floor) - let’s just say “under $22K”
my latest surgical procedure - Bariatric LapBand - even tho covered by insurance, I had all those co-pays for all the pretesting I had to go thru - total out of pocket, about $500.00
no regrets on any of those financial decisions
My e-bookwise reader, around $130, IIRC, including tax/shipping. It is FANTASTIC! When fully charged, there is about 11 hours of time on the battery. An additional memory chip, and I can carry hundreds of books around in my purse. It’s about the size of a trade paperback and isn’t too heavy. I think I spent another $15 on software so that I can download free books from Project Gutenberg and Blackmask onto my reader.
It has probably already paid for itself, as I’m not having to make panicked trips to Barnes & Noble for a paperback or to the drugstore–if nothing else is handy–for some magazines, when I unexpectedly find myself miles from home with time on my hands, or when my doctor’s appointment ends up taking 2 hours instead of 15 minutes.
