Ladies and gentledopers, I’d just like to announce that as of 12:00 noon EST today I have successfully defended my Ph.D. thesis in topology. Tomorrow I probably won’t be able to call myself “Dr. Milley” without laughing, but today I can so I thought I’d share. I’d like to give a “woo-hoo”, but it’s now 4:15 and the adrenalin high has worn off, so I don’t think I have the energy to muster even a “woo”. Please “woo-hoo” amongst yourselves if you’re so inclined. As for me, I think tonight I’ll celebrate by spending far too much time on the computer, and I’m thinking of celebrating [No Pants Day](http://www.nopantsday.com) tomorrow. Let the games commence! ---

CONGRATULATIONS! What an achievement. Doesn’t it feel surreal? Now all you have to do is hand in the changes and about 7,000 annoying peices of stupid paperwork, receipts for binding, surveys from the National Science Foundation, and you’ll be done! Congratulations, **Dr. Orbifold**. I’ve heard some people say that the best years of their professional life were their graduate years. I find, on the other hand, that (despite a very shaky future :eek: thanks McGreevey for the budget cuts ☹ ), I pretty much have had a blast since finishing.
