Spare me from entering teeny little numbers into huge columns, otherwise known as grading. How computer programmers and such do it is beyond me. It could be worse, I could be back in the old days, just six or seven years ago, when I had to do the calculating by hand. Well, by head really, because my hand doesn’t do math, my brain does. And not particularily well anymore because it’s been a long time since I waited tables. Waiting tables is the best for learning to multiply, add, and such. I used to be able to calculate tax on a 6.79 sammich and be actually correct. Didn’t use my fingers or anything. Tippy Winders is an excellent cat name. _FWOOSH_ would be amusing until something serious came up, like graduation and then the person would call out “_FWOOSH_ Delicious” and people in the audience would snicker and frown dissapprovingly at the frivolous naming done by such silly parents. My rule of naming is don’t name something you wouldn’t want in a doctor. Tippy Winders Delicious would be a very trustworthy doctor. _FWOOSH_ Delicious would leave a sponge in you, you would suspect. It would make a good nickname, though. Nicknames are largely exempt from the doctor rule. Tippy Winders “_FWOOSH_” Delicious. ---

I toyed with the idea of making an appointment with Dr. Babe, but I decided that reality might interfere with my perfectly good fantasy about what Dr. Babe would be like. I already knew John Cusack was cute, **Kally**. I saw him in _Grosse Point Blank_, _High Fidelity_, and _Pushing Tin_. It’s just that I don’t really think of him as _hot_, being that he’s almost old enough to be my dad n’ all. But John Cusack circa 1989 is about my age, and definitely qualifies as hot. 🙂 I’ve never seen _Tapeheads_, so I’ll be sure to add it to my list of stuff I wanna rent. **Ashes** , you silly person you. Cats don’t graduate or become doctors. I’ve never played cricket. I think it looks kinda silly. But I’m sure that English people think American football looks kinda silly, so it all evens out in the end. We didn’t play cricket in my neighborhood - we played stuff like hide ‘n’ seek and volleyball. Easy things like that. ---

Computer programmers _don’t_ do it, they tell the computers to do it. That’s what is, or was, so great about being a computer programmer. It is, or was, a great field for people who are creatively lazy. Hey **Rue** , does the little woman get Friday off ‘cause of King Ronnie’s death? If so, does that mean you get an extra day at the beach? We’re thinkin’ we might go to the beach this weekend too. Not _your_ beach, _our_ beach. If it was the same beach you could come by and we’d barbeque, but it’s not. ☹ I’m just sayin’ We need to mow the grass at the cabin very badly. (that’s how I do it - _badly_). And I’ve built a lean-to shed to attach to the side of the cabin. It’s big enough to put 2 bicycles into. Whether we will actually put the bikes in it is still being debated, but it’s been sitting in the driveway _here_ for a week, and I want it to go _there_, where it will be more useful. So, it’s hot and it’s humid and even tho I get Friday off, I don’t get a vacation this year. Not that that has anything to do with anything. **Hot and Humid** here as well but what do you expect? This is Fladuh! We don’t get Friday off but we did have some jellybeans in our staff meeting today in honor of the late prez. We also had Kettle Corn which wasn’t in honor of the late prez but was just there because jellybeans didn’t seem like enough stuff. I want to warn everybody to **STAY AWAY FROM THE KETTLE CORN!** That stuff is like Crack! :eek: ---

_Rant ahead_ Boss at my Crappy Job just told me today that my Good Job was interfering with her schedule- I am no longer available for both Friday and Saturday. She told me I got the second job to augment my hours, but she can no longer give me very many hours because she only really wants me to work weekends. She says that my Good Job is too difficult for her to deal with. I will have to Decide Which Company I Am More Committed To. Also, I have callously decided to move on Tuesday, and need Tuesday and Wednesday off. I have seven hours’ work next week. Seven _whole_ hours! That’s… umm… 51.03! Golly gee! Think how much less it would have been if I hadn't got that generous .14 raise! I’m going to talk to my Good Job manager, and if he can up me to as little as 20 hours a week, I’m quitting Crappy Job. I can’t wait. _End rant_ Viggo Mortenson is what, 45? I’m 25, so he’s old enough to be my dad. Well, not old enough to be _my_ Dad, because my Dad is 74. But maybe Mr. Lissar’s Dad.
