That's it, I'm switching to Starbucks.

Best coffee I’ve ever had is at Beth’s Cafe (a 24-hr greasy spoon diner) in Seattle. Unfortunately that’s a bit of a drive from here. :frowning:

There’s a bakery/coffee shop in Austin called Quack’s that used to have the best coffee of anywhere. Then they switched to a french roast, and very proudly told me about it. It tastes like crud, super disappointing.

They still draw me back with their amazing pastries, but my heart weeps a little with every sip of coffee.

Had breakfast there during a week-end at the lake. Bennies were adequate - coffee was excellent.

Seconded. I can’t stand their drip coffee but their americano is light years apart.

This must be a policy of theirs or something. My mom went into a Starbucks downtown with a 100 dollar bill, which they couldn’t break. They gave my mom her coffee and pastry anyway. I remember thinking that was unique.
