Howdy y’all! I’ve got a down-home southern dish that’ll just hit the spot: Fried salmon with peanut butter and syrup. Now now, don’t write it off just yet, let your tummy decide! For dessert there’s pineapple ritz bake: tender pineapple chunks baked in flour & sugar with a crisp butter-dipped ritz cracker crust. Never a complaint. And if that doesn’t sound enticing I’ve got some red velvet layer cake in the ice box too. ---

What, nobody’s bringing movies? Some nice comedies to lighten the mood. Here are my favorite cheer-me-ups: Quick Change Raising Arizona My Cousin Vinny Meatballs Tootsie That Thing You Do! Mitchell (MST3K version) Waking Ned Devine I also have two snuggly springer spaniels who are always full of love and joy and guaranteed to bring you happiness. And a package or two of Pepperidge Farm Mint Brussels cookies never hurts either. ---

Am I too late to come too? If not, I’ll bring a variety of nail polish colors and stuff to do facials. Anyone up for margaritas? I’ll bring a blender and fixin’s. I think if we all brought candles, we wouldn’t even need to have the lights on. Wouldn’t that be lovely?! Anyone thought of music? ---

Tupug here and I’m loaded down. I’ve got all the fixins for hot fudge sundaes and rootbeer floats, a roll of bubble wrap for popping, a couple shovel-face dogs for the canine lovers (they are very snuggly and they do NOT drool!), oh, and I thought we could do with several masseurs so I brought Thor. He’s got magic fingers and looks amazingly like the Beast Master. 😃 ---

I’ve brought some Ovaltine and a couple of fire extinguishers. Oh, and there’s a small bouquet of carnations out in the car if you’ve got something to put them in. Now I’ll just borrow a kitty and one of those chenille blankets, if I may. I promise not to braid either the fringe or the fridge. Or raid the fridge. Or the fringe. ---

I’ve got a big pot of white chili here, and a pint of Ben and Jerry’s Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream. Got my kitty, my chenille throw, and my warm terrycloth robe and slippers. Yep, that’s everything required for a “comfort night”. Pop in a movie and let’s get warm and cozy! ---

I got a fuzzy blanket with moons and stars all over it that’s big enough to share, and I’ve got loads of mint Girls Scout Cookies–not as good a home-made, but strangely comforting. And my copy of _Bringing Up Baby_ is available for anyone who likes Katherine Hepurn, Cary Grant, and/or a leopard (not to mention dinosaur bones). ---

And teddy bears, I’ve got lots and teddy bears to share. As well as a few moose, a couple of tigers, a penguin, various Winnie-the-Pooh pals, a unicorn, a pegusus, and two dragons. they are all very good listeners, and very discreet. ---

I’m hoping the living room is kinda cold, so we can all pile the blankets on. I’ll make egg nog. Would someone please bring a movie projector and screen? (Those of you my age can smell the screen, and when the projector heats up and hits the movie – mmm.) I’ll bring a really short reel showing my brothers and sisters and me as little kids, and y’all should each bring one, too. OK, you youngsters can bring a videotape, but it just won’t smell as good! ---

Just let me teleport up to Maine real quick and get my friends’ 3 cats. Come to think of it, I’ll throw in the friends since they’ll be turning up here if they ever get their DSL situation sorted out. It’s a married couple, and he is one of the legendary Mensan Cabana Boys. They are also expert huggers. I’m not formally trained, but I have been told I give a pretty good backrub. I’ve also got a duvet, lots of blankets, a huge batch of chocolate truffles, a batch of buckeyes made according to the recipe in the Penzey’s spice catalog which makes “a gazillion” and a huge pot of hot chocolate, complete with marshmallows, whipped cream, and cinnamon. For music, I’ve got Stan Rogers. Snow is also falling artistically outside the windows, so we can appreciate how warm and snug we are. Oh, add one batch of homemade snickerdoodles, too, please, with the left over cinnamon sugar on hand for various drinks. This feels nice! CJ ---

You know how you’ve been waiting for something to happen, and you’ve wanted to DO something, but you can’t quite figure out what it is? Thank you, **Bodypoet** …this was just what I needed. Alright…I’m bringing the industrial-size coffee maker with extra burners, and I’m bringing a selection of teas to make by the pitcherful (my personal fave is Celestial Seasoning’s English Toffee, with a splash of milk and sugar). I’m also making a batch of my Grandma Nicholson’s hot chocolate. The secret? Grandma used to buy full-sized chocolate bars in bulk to give away on Hallowe’en, and she would use the leftovers to make REAL hot chocolate on the stove, with milk brought back fresh from the barn scant moments before. Borrowing from Grandma’s cookbook twice more, I’m bringing the best comfort-food macaroni and cheese you’ve ever had, and I’ll whip up chocolate chip oatmeal cookies with a little cinnamon and crushed walnuts, and another few dozen without the nuts for the allergic people in our group. Blueberry muffins and fresh-baked bread, too. Media in tow: The first two seasons of _M_A_S_H\* on DVD _The Tao Of Steve_ on DVD Completely blank acid-free journals with pens and colored pencils for everybody! (Just in case anyone wants to really get creative) Vivaldi’s _The Four Seasons_ as rendered by the Academy of Ancient Music Paul Simon’s _There Goes Rhymin’ Simon_…something about “Loves Me Like A Rock” just fits this mood, somehow A couple of last things: red wine from the Oliver Winery and blueberry wine from the Butler Winery (another Bloomington resident here, **Bodypoet!** ) And just for insurance, a variety of stuffed animals and pillows… Now, then.
