No, “short putts” was one of my college roommates, who was a compulsive neatnik with absolutely no sense of humor. Not to be confused with “skinny jackass” who went to bed at 9pm and got up at 5am, when he would study with the radio on while I was trying to sleep. ---

Oh, **ArrMatey**. If whimpering makes you feel better, you can go ahead. But there’s room on the couch–you don’t need to be in a corner. And have a kitten–those usually make me feel better. Well, my interview was a total flop. I’m not at all what they’re looking for. They might hire me anyway, though, since it’s getting very close to summer and they’re probably getting desperate for someone to work. My interviewers told me that they’d let me know something by the end of the week. So we’ll see. In the meantime, dental stuff isn’t going well. I was supposed to grade and post my student’s reports by the end of yesterday, but I ended up not being able to do much of anything. So I’ve got lots of complaints from jumpy students (many of whom couldn’t be bothered to do crap all quarter but who are now very anxious to get their 25 points during the last week) and a few from the lecturer, who has been getting student complaints as well. Ecch. ---

Toad in the hole is definitely food of the gods. Basically it is fat English sausage (unlike anything you can find in the US) embedded in a batter (like thin pancake mix) and cooked in the over so it rises around the sausages. It’s really light, fluffy and tasty tasty tasty!!! Best served with gravy, new tatos and mushy peas… IMHO of course 😃 ---

Hi guys! Mind if I pop in? I’m having a bout of the blues, trying to figure out why I never married, and feeling generally unloved, unlovable, and in need of a bit of male companionship. A conversation with **HJay** last night helped a bit, but he’s a bit too far away for physical hugs. If anyone could offer a virtual hug or a cat or dog to cuddle, I’d appreciate it. That and a reminder that my face and personality don’t scare people. In return, I’ve brought a fresh batch of chocolate truffles and cream puffs. **ArrMatey** , when this thread started, I was unemployed and desperate.
