Great win but any news on Bell? If he is out that is very very bad.
Hyperextended knee. He ought to be OK for next week, albeit sore.
At the start of the season, all I wanted was for the Steelers to make the playoffs. So no matter what else happens, they’ve met my goal to make me a happy fan.
But of course, now I want to see them go on a title run. The offense is there (as long as Bell is available), and I don’t think the defense is as horrible as people make it out to be. The secondary is so much better without Ike Taylor out there. They aren’t a Steel Curtain by any means, but they’re competent enough.
Good!
I’ve decided I want a Steelers/Seahawks rematch. With the Seahawks finally getting their revenge. So, for the first time in my life, I’ll join you guys routing for the Steelers to make it to the Big Game
The Seahawks are the one team I don’t think we have any chance of beating this year. Lots can happen but it’s not a match-up I want to see this time around aside from the fact that it would mean making the Super Bowl.
Bell has been ruled out for this week and Polamalu has been ruled in. As much as it sucks to have Bell injured we can at least be thankful it wasn’t more serious and the match-up is good in that the Ravens’ big weakness is the secondary. We’ll miss Bell most in blitz pickups and trying to draw up the linebackers but still a very winnable game.
Goddamn Ike Taylor is inactive tonight. That, all by itself, assures a Steelers win.
So, how is this going to go? Even if Evil Ben shows up I can’t see the Rats winning. The Steelers defense has stiffened considerably, they are playing in Pittsburgh, and the Steelers’ receivers are just too good for the MASH unit the Rats are fielding. If Pittsburgh gets even a few runs from their backups of any substance they’ll force Baltimore to respect it and Ben will pick them apart.
31-17 Pittsburgh
As an aside, I had the opportunity to go to this game. Alas, it was just a bit too expensive for me (Jesuschristo the Turnpike is expensive nowadays). I’ll probably live to regret that.
So psyched for the game! Let’s grill some Ratbird ass. (And I want to see that wife-beating bastard Rice go DOWN. HARD)
I’m just pissed that Montreal wouldn’t agree to the Penguins’ request to change the time of the game so it didn’t interfer with the Steelers’ game.
Um, Guin…
You are aware that the Rats cut Ray Rice before the season started and he hasn’t played a down, right? Their back is Justin Forsett, and he’s had a pretty beastly season. Hope he gets crushed instead.
Ravens have a dinged up secondary and going the other way starting a rookie at LT. Here’s hoping both of those things work to our favour. Not liking Ngata’s return quite so much but Jernigan is out instead so at least there’s that.
I would say we have seen Ike’s last game a few weeks ago.
10-9 at the half. I’m not worried yet but Haley’s red-zone allergy has taken its toll. One shot at the end zone with all the decent possessions they’ve had is not encouraging. Also, the defense needs to play and not act like fools. Too many penalties, too much jawing, and a personal foul on Worilds is unacceptable.
Tough division.
NOW I’m worried.
Yah. Unless we get one of Tomlin’s splash plays soon it’s getting away from them.
…huh.
Well, they got some splash plays.
One possession game with a two-point conversion needed.
Oof, Ravens with a splash play of their own. Damned Suggs!
Not looking good. That looks like the dagger. And it would come from Suggs.
The one team I was afraid of seeing. Now you know why.
