I got my package today from **Sicks Ate** , who, by my best guess, lives in or near Kansas City, MO A cool shot Glass from The Elms Hotel & Spa, a VERY nice looking establishment, indeed. A sticker from the Casual Animal Brewing Co (another KC locale) which will find its way to my laptop. AND, as a bonus, a Fallout Vault Boy enamel pin! w00t! Thank you! ---

Iā€™m still waiting for the vendor to get the glass in. All I can say is, I hope the wait is worth it for my recipient. Assuming all goes well it will be, quite literally, a one-of-a-kind shot glass. HO. LEE. SHIT! So I come home yesterday to a package on my doorstep. I think, ā€œwtf? I didnā€™t order anything from Amazonā€¦ AAAUUUGGGHHH!!! ITā€™S HERE!!!ā€ Chicago return address!!! ::ripriprip:: So in it is a 500 piece puzzle with the Chicago skyline on it that my boys are already fighting overā€”they both want to put it togetherā€”a Chicago snowglobe thatā€™s not only really fucking cool but gets extra bling points because the pewter base exactly matches one I have of Seattle that I got at the Space Needle earlier this year, a Chicago cubs baseball hat, and of course the shot glass: itā€™s the Chicago city flag using the skyline as the two horizontal bars. So very cool! Now, I love the shot glass. Itā€™s absolutely awesome. But I gotta say, **zoid** , you fucking hit it out of the ballpark with the hat. See, I donā€™t like hats much because I canā€™t find ones that fit me well. I [even started a thread about it years ago](https://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=618529) looking for recommendations because my fat head had lost enough hair I needed something to wear pretty much any time I was outside. Iā€™ve always dismissed ball caps because I could never find one that fit comfortablyā€”in that thread ball caps were a no-go right from the start. Iā€™ve ended up with a couple of Akubra Australian cattleman hats and and thatā€™s been that. So when I saw the baseball cap in the box I thought Iā€™d have to pass it on to one of my kids. But, because it was so cool looking I adjusted it and tried it on. And the damn thing fit. IT ACTUALLY FIT!! And not only fit, but fit _comfortably!_ Iā€™m absolutely blown away! After a decade and a half of needing a decent-fitting baseball cap, and spending $150 on caps that I _thought_ would work but didnā€™t, I finally have one! **zoid** , my thanks is utter insufficient! The shot glass and the snowglobe are cool, the puzzle is great, but not getting my head sunburned while I mow the lawn is the best thing ever! Thank you so much! ---

Update: So Iā€™ve been out of town for a funeral / family reunion (man, that sounds badā€¦) for the past two weeks. Hereā€™s the rundown as we come around the final bend of this thing: **Labtrash** is still prepping their package and will mail it shortly. **Swampspruce** has mailed his package, it it still on its way to England (sent via rowboat, presumably). I returned home toā€¦ no email or text that the shot glass I ordered especially for my recipient is in, soā€¦ fuck it. Iā€™ll be putting my package together with a different glass in it this weekend and mailing it next week. If the specially-ordered one comes in Iā€™ll send it along later in a separate package. By the way, **feppytweed** PMā€™d me and told me heā€™s glad we had a good turnout and that heā€™ll participate next year. Glad to hear heā€™s still around. ---

Hey, I wanted to be eco-freindly! You try finding a fast clipper ship doing North Atlantic runs these days! I had this one boat all lined up and some 16 year old Swedish girl just had to use it for some meeting in New York so, what can you do? - In true Canadian fashion, I do truly apologise!
