Heard today that the Browns tried to sign Harrison as well. He demurred, believing it’s a little late in his career to learn the QB position. ---

Both the Pats and Stealers seem to, on paper at least, have a fairly easy path to the AFC championship game against each other. Interestingly, all the four top seeds in both conferences all finished 13-3. ---

So I froze my ass off to watch a glorified scrimmage, but I got to see history made and my son got to see his first game (of sorts) so it’s all good. In other news, he’s baaaaaaaack. Sorry, Bengals fans, but they even Bengaled the coach. Marvin Lewis re-signed for 2 years. I know you thought you were finally free of the averageness he brought, but nope. Too bad. They could have had Todd Haley. Everybody in Pittsburgh would have helped him move. ---

Was anyone else getting a weird smoke screen, X-files conspiracy feeling about AB’s re-hab for a while? It all seemed a little off to me, like he wasn’t really going to be able to be himself for the Jags game. But, reports seem to be that he was 100% at practice this week… or is that just what they want me to think??? ---

I don’t mean to keep bringing up the Ju-Ju suspension, but I saw my old high school friend today. He asked me if I remembered our old coach’s advice (on defense against a wide receiver who just caught a pass) to put your facemask in his earhole. I remembered that immediately and wondered why I had forgotten it. Times change. ---

Steelers are marching to the golf course. The worst preparation for a playoff game I have ever seen. They are making Jacksonville look like the 72 Dolphins. ---

But they’re super prepared for the game they aren’t going to be in. Holy shit, down 3 tds top of 2nd quarter. Playing the team they asked for. I don’t think the Browns would’ve been down 3 tds at this point. People talk of the arrogance of Steelers fans. This one isn’t feeling particularly arrogant right now. ---
