# The 200,000th thread

Well, I saw that we had been by it while I was away, but I wasn’t close by as it approached or I would have hung around for it.
I do know that the thread count as shown on the Forums Home page is off by some amount from the actual “threadid#” and that the threadid# for “this thread” (at the time I put my mouse cursor over the “post reply” button) was 206,652. So the trick will involve a little arithmetic between the thread count in the Forums Home page and the actual threadid#.
You just have to find “the latest thread” (which isn’t forum-specific, I don’t think) and get its threadid#, then do the math to find which thread was called #200,000 and plug its threadid# into the URL and it will (unless the counts are off by now due to deleted threads, etc.) take you there.
Is that clear? If not, I can try harder to explain how I understand this mystery.
