I agree that puck sure looked in. But I guess what you and I think doesn’t count. Anyway, sure looked kicked in to me, but I don’t know the rules that well.
That was an exhausting game to watch. Beautiful OT winner by Martin St. Louis, though. Both keepers generally played excellent, particularly when it mattered. I’m going to be on pins and needles all Monday night. GO BOLTS!!!
Nah, Gelinas was just doing a normal ice skate stop thingy( there’s a name for it, I can’t remember right now). There was no “extra effort” to kick it in, in fact he seemed totally oblivious that it had hit him.
It might possibly be a good thing if Calgary doesn’t win at home tho, did you see the video of like 60,000 people in the streets ready to go nuts? Yeah, Calgary came a hair from just exploding.
Add road ice advantage, and well, I gotta pull for the Flames. Besides, ICE hockey in Florida? pfft.
Even if somebody had noticed the goal, I don’t think they would’ve counted it. After Dallas/Buffalo, I’m sure they’d wave off a goal that was that inconclusive. Would you want to spend years hearing was it/wasn’t it a kicking motion?
Game 7 tonight! No matter who ends up winning the Cup, this series has been great…well-played, mostly clean (from what I’ve been able to watch), and tight.
Hockey in Florida is beautiful, baby! I can scarce wait for the game to start tonight. I’m entered an online contest with the local Sports radio station to try and win tickets to the game tonight. I may go out and party in Tampa although it could get crazy. There’s a power outage here right now so I can’t get much else done.
OMFG, what a night this has been. The mood here has been electric. I can’t imagine what it’s like on the other side of the bay, in Tampa. I had tears welling in my eyes when Dave Andreychuk hoisted the Cup. In the last 18 months we’ve had three championships. This is so cool. I say only a part of it was the free pint every time the Lightning scored!
As a Canadian, Calgarian, and longtime hockey ignorer, I would just like to congratulate Tampa. They played well. I actually watched the game (mostly). It was pretty exciting, and Tampa deserved the cup.
I still hold that warm-weather hockey is a tool of the devil.
