Great opening–Jackman is a hit with the audience. Interesting way to present the supporting actress award. At least they’re changing things up a little. ---

The five SA winners in a semi-circle look eerily like the horses in Equus. It feels like they are about to induct the winner into some sort of blood-cult. As if it wasn’t scary enough to be up for an award… ---

I’m so glad that Angie and Brad aren’t going to win. Their whole, “We’re too good to be interviewed on the red carpet,” bs just makes me hate them more. When Mickey takes the Best Actor statue, he should say, “In your face, pretty boy!” in Brad’s general direction. Of course, as crazy as he is, he just might.😃 ---

God, if this is how they’re going to present each category, this show is gonna last ages. They actually managed to make the Oscars even more pretentious than before. Loved Jackman’s opening number. ---

1st winner: Penelope Cruz. Not going to be too many surprises this year, methinks. ETA : I _like_ seeing clips from the movies. I hope not all the presentations will be like this. It was actually kind of painful. ---

Remember the [IMDB](http://www.imdb.com/)will be posting constant updates on the awards as they happen. So far, so good. I do wish it was Stewart again but Jackman wasn’t bad so far. ---

Indeed! The Supporting Actress award is usually over with about ten minutes in. Hated all five of the former SA’s dresses, especially Whoopi’s and Goldie’s. Seeing the clips of all the nominees was one of the things I liked best about the show, so I could actually get an idea of what their role/film was about. The constant fawning over the nominees by the presenters is gonna get very old very fast. ---

Tina Fey and Steve Martin’s presentation is the funniest thing I’ve seen on the Oscars in years. Best Original Screenplay = Milk! Wow, that’s a good sign. I hope that’s not the only win they get tonight. ---
