The creepiest movie I ever saw was…Boxing Helena. I understood the movie. It’s one of those feminist artsy fartsy movies about how women are oppressed by men. But this was the sickest most disturbing movie I’ve ever seen. Please don’t watch it, I don’t want a Boxing Helena 2. ---

I loved Boxing Helena! I still think Shallow Grave is one of the creepiest. The way the roommates slowly lost their minds after they chopped up the guy and buried him in the ground. Expecially, the roomie who moved into the attic and started watching the others through the holes he drilled into the ceiling. :::SHIVER::: ---

Although a little dated now, Prince of Darkness never fails to creep me out. Especially the “this is not a dream…” part. Rose ---

[off topic] A few years ago there was a murder near the city. A fourteen (I think) year old boy skinned, and murdered a younger child. He then boiled the child’s fat in a can, as was done in the Wish Master. The boy wanted the power portrayed in the movie. [/off topic] ---

Another movie I would recommend is _Paper House_ – a great atmospheric film and very original, I thought. ---

My daddy taught me two things in life. 1. Don’t eat paint chips 2. Don’t trust anyone who doesn’t like the Honeymoon Killers. You probably hate John Waters movies too. This film is like Waters doing a remake of Bonny and Clyde as a friend once told me. It fits every definition of cult classic. ---

The creepmeter has given it up a long time ago for the uncut version of the Exorcist but there is one movie that was released this weekend that got my mustache up: The Cell. Go see it and tell me what you think. The villain makes Dennis Hopper’s villain in Blue Velvet look like a creampuff. Ugghh! ---

I’m going to narrowly recommend against _The Cell._ I should have the review up on my site (see sig) in the next couple of days, but in brief, the fantastic visual invention didn’t outweigh the implausible, derivative story. If you’re a creepy-movie buff, there’s a fair amount of demented and disturbing material, but you’ve got to slog through a lot of stuff that rips off _Silence of the Lambs_ as well. Just my $.02… ---

Don’t mean to hijack but… Actually, Cervaise, I agree with you. The Cell is low on substance, high on eye candy. There is no attempt at social commentary or a bigger picture. I just have a hard time trashing anything Vince Vaughn is in because I wuv him. I love how they don’t even come remotely close to explaining how that ridiculous machine works. ---

Anybody here ever see a creepy French film called “The Infernal Trio”? I only saw it once years ago and have been wanting to see it again ever since. A man and two women get involved in all kinds of nefarious, kinky crimes, and it is both horrifying and funny. Arnie? Are you there? ---

When I was a teenager, I had the crud scared out of me by The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I also remember that Eraserhead was not scary…but just really icky and creepy (_shivers at memory_) ---

Yeah, **Eraserhead** was just disgusting and disturbing. Not entertaining at all. Has anyone mentioned **Cube** yet? That little Canadian gem has a definite creepiness factor.
