Mind if I jump in? Someone mentioned languages… 😉 I grew up in Ontario English (the accentless one 😉 ) I speak enough Esperanto to do business in it, enough French to get in trouble, enough Japanese to entertain a three-year-old, and the one word of Chinese I knew turned out to be wrong. It’s raining here, cool moist weather to encourage the greenery to come up. I passed a telephone pole with at least four huge holes in it, courtesy of the local woodpeckers… ---

the place is empty without **Swampy** The trip to the armpit is being put off until tomorrow I think, or maybe late tonight. I didn’t sleep well and I am tired, maybe after a nap I’ll feel more like driving. I needed to go through some paper irk as well, now I have stacks of sorted papers and no files to put them in. I need some lunch and I think do a load of laundry. Well no think about it, I need to do a load. ---

How can we have a tornado watch - it’s sunny out!!! :eek: And of course, we’re going to have stupid high winds. I am fluent in American English and east-coast southern, as well as the dialect of Redneckus Americanus. 😛 I understand most variants of British English and can get around in Hinglish thanks to some coworkers. I can follow simple conversations in Spanish; probably because I heard so much during the 30 years I lived in Florida. I don’t actually speak the language, though. Upon moving to the Boston area, I got rid of my (admittedly slight) Southern accent damn quick. Being a blonde chick working in IT can be tough enough…having a southern accent to top it off would just be too much. ---

Not that any of them have any room to talk, but for whatever reason it gets a bad rap. If you are from the area and somebody mentions the armpit everybody knows exactly what town you are referring to. It’s so bad that my niece’s recruiter told her to use a different address on her resume. Personally I think it was a nice place to grow up. The mall, library, movies, etc were within walking distance. It’s very quiet, low crime rate except for one section which I’m not even sure is part of the armpit. ---
