Even funnier: he praises the first fight as the best that lolAeschines has been complaining was the worst. lol.

> The “graduation ceremony” was executing a helpless man. They made that pretty clear in her flashback/nightmare. That’s why she thinks she’s a monster and won’t give up her avenging to go retire with Banner. I got the feeling that the sterilization was an incidental part of it and they probably didn’t even consider it a big deal.

I think it was just to create a symbolic contrast. It showed that Natasha’s background not only taught her how to cause deaths, it also made it impossible for her to create life.

I got the impression that not only was she sterilized, they also, ahem, removed her ability to even enjoy sex - clitorectomy(?) or something like that. She could still fake it, a useful talent for a secret agent, but she got nothing out of it herself.

I don’t think it was quite that far. He phrasing was something like “The doctor was…efficient.” I’m guessing that the procedure was short, nasty, and brutish. The memories of it are probably awful and half suppressed, hence her reaction.

> Well, since I _did_ think that this movie was too dark (lighting/design not themes), I fully expected it to be something that at least some people would be complaining about. Looks like, oddly, I’m the only one who thought it this time around. I actually looked forward to my second viewing in 2D since I think 3D glasses kind of dim the image somewhat. But, no, I also found the 2D screening to be too dark.

This could be your theater being frugal. The bulbs on projectors are expensive and theater will use half power to make them last longer which makes the movie appear darker. Roger Ebert used to talk about that a lot in his writing.

Maybe he thinks that some people who, as far as he knows, were kidnapped by Hydra and used as living weapons, deserve a chance at redemption? Like the chance he gave to Black Widow, for instance.

So the gauntlet that Thanos has during the mid credits scene is not the same one in the Asgardian vault. One was the right hand and the other the left. I wonder if that means something or if it was just an oversight.

It means something. What would happen if each gauntlet only had half the stones? How would they interact with each other?

It means Marvel Studios had no idea how successful their movies would wind up being and didn’t even know they’d be doing an Infinity Wars plot until well after Thor was filmed. They put the original gauntlet in there as an Easter Egg for fans.

I think that was just carelessness in getting overexcited about planting Easter eggs for the fan boys. The momentary satisfaction of getting a handful of people to squee “Oooh! I saw the Infinity Gauntlet!” now screws with the longterm storytelling. Nothing leaves Asgaard’s weapons vault without going noticed. The Gauntlet in the vault in the first Thor movie is going to have to be retconned as “Ummm, not the Infinity Gauntlet, that was the, ummm, Pi Holder! Yeah, that’s the ticket!”

If they were still making the One-Shot short films as extras on the Bluray releases, they could explain it away the way they explained away Tony Stark’s otherwise inexplicable cameo in _The Incredible Hulk_ and the way they doubled back on their Mandarin fake-out from _Iron Man 3_, “Don’t worry, kids, the real Mandarin is still out there somewhere!”

The screenshots I’ve seen weren’t clear enough to tell which gauntlet Odin had locked up. I’m comfortable assuming the one in the vault is the same one Thanos has.

Heck, Bruce Banner’s physical appearance changed _completely_ between the events in his movie and _Avengers._ :dubious:

There’s a strong part of me that thinks that this was, literally, all planned in this much detail from the beginning and that the second half of these quotes isn’t right…but I believe that this is actually the case since Thor was the SECOND of these movies made.

IIRC Fiege has come out and said “oh no, the gauntlet in Odins vault is still there, and that question will be answered in future movies.”

So either he’s really good at fanwanking, or maybe there WAS a plan

Given that the one in Odin’s vault appeared to already have all 6 gems in it (when we know that couldn’t possibly be the case) I’m inclined to believe that it is a replica being stored there for reasons unknown.

The prop gauntlet Marvel had on display at the 2010 Comic-Con was the [right one](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infinity_Gems#/media/File:SDCC_Infinity_Gauntlet.jpg), with gems. This _appears_ to be the one glimpsed in _Thor_.
