# The "Am I Old?" Test

I knew everyone on the list, except Bruce Forsythe. I’m 62. I’ve seen live/met/been in the room with about 8 of them.
Regarding Forsythe, could it be that the OP intended to write John instead of Bruce? John would have been right in the same generation with the rest, and of equal prominence in the US. Bruce? Not so much. It appears he was a UK star that didn’t really cross the pond?

I knew 14 - mid 50s - and I guessed correctly where the list came from

I happened to see, maybe, a half dozen or so episodes by happenstance, but it wasn’t a show I ever made it a point to watch. Not that I didn’t like it; it just never emerged as a priority show for some reason.

A lot of people don’t know that the Muppet Show was filmed in the UK, so a lot of the early guest stars were UK celebrities who didn’t necessarily have much of a presence in North America.

Bear in mind that the original _The Muppet Show_ was actually produced by an English production company, ATV, after the U.S. networks showed no interest in producing it. It ran on ATV in the U.K., and was then syndicated in the U.S. This might help explain why a couple of celebrities who weren’t well-known in the U.S., like Forsyth and Aznavour, appeared on the show.
And, yes, it was Bruce Forsyth as the “special guest star” on the Season 1, Episode 13 installment of _The Muppet Show._

70, and I knew all of them. I’ve even seen Joel Grey live in the first Cabaret revival.
I should have gotten where they came from, but I haven’t watched that show for a good 20 years, when I went through the seasons that they released.

Age 48. The only one I drew a complete blank on was Avery Schreiber. I also correctly guessed where the list was from. But then again, I think I read The Wikipedia page on the Muppet Show some time in the past two years.

I’m 43, I recognized them all from what everyone else said they recognized them from, and then also I know them from Gomer Pyle, Sesame Street, Laugh In, The Brady Bunch, Murphy Brown, Zoobilee Zoo, Thriller, Valerie, Airplane, Cabaret, The Muppet Movie and West Side Story.

I’m 37. I recognize 5 by name alone being on TV shows I watched on Nick@Nite or similar:
- Jim Nabors
- Florence Henderson
- Jim Nabors (Gomer Pile/Andy Griffith Show)
- Florence Henderson (Mrs. Brady, Brady Bunch)
- Candice Bergen (Murphy Brown)
- Vincent Price (from Scooby Doo of all places)
- Valerie Harper (Rhoda/Mary Tyler Moore)
I also knew Twiggy’s name, but not for sure who she actually is. And I mixed up Phyllis Diller with Cloris Leachman due to her Mary Tyler Moore character.)
I’ve watched The Muppet Show many times, but I rarely recognized the people on them. Though I do remember several who would fit the list who you didn’t mention., e.g. the actors from Star Wars and Carol Burnett come to mind immediately.

She was originally an iconic fashion model in the 1960s, whose nickname was said to have come from her slender build; she later moved into acting. If you’ve seen the movie _The Blues Brothers_, she’s the attractive English blonde woman who interacts with Elwood while he’s at a gas station.
