That’s a really nasty final Roadblock. Having a mental challenge as the last one has always been a nice touch to trip up the physical teams but this one… quite literally anyone could hit on the right combination now. ---

This is the first race in a long time that I would have been happy to see any of the final three win. I’m happy with the outcome - as though that’d matter, right? ---

Geez, I really liked this final leg. In particular: I liked how many clues there were, and the variety of tasks that challenged the teams both physically and mentally at the end of the trip around. I think it’s the best ever. Oh, and Scuba Ben thanks for starting the thread. ---

Woo hoo! :Grabs Scuba Ben for a happy dance around the living room!: I even got to see my Anglicans again at the end. The next time my father’s moaning about getting old and decrepit (in fairness, he is 78), I shall simply point out to him that I saw a 69 year old man climb up a glacier faster than his 20-something year old grandson and that age doesn’t necessarily mean deterioration. I loved the chant of “Go Grandpa!” at the end. **Otto, Scuba Ben** , thank you. I have a new series I’m hooked on. Not only did I enjoy every episode, I’ve enjoyed the threads about them here, too. It was a great race and a good ending! ---

That was a weird experience. I don’t think I’ve ever had a final leg in which I didn’t intensely dislike at least one of the Final Three teams. Go, Thomas Kyle!!! Go, Rachel Flowergirl!!! Oh, and **Siege**? MWAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA! We hooked another one! ---

It has to be kinda grating on the other eliminated teams, especially those that were cut early to have to cheer that long for people they hardly know. I’m very pleased about the winners, and even happier that everyone gave Don serious kudos at the end. Does anyone know if second and third place teams get reduced amounts of money, like they do on Survivor, or is it just you get the stuff you won (if any) for winning legs? ---

It was kind of sad when Ronald told his daughter, “For the first time in my life, when I say ‘I love you,’ I really mean it.” Now, in fairness, I’ll suppose that he didn’t mean exactly what that does mean, but I don’t know what he really would have been trying to say there. ---

Awww…that ending brought a tear to my eye! Kudos to the amazing editors for making this whole season into a cohesive story. As another famous traveling duo might say, “be excellent to each other.” We saw this lesson in how the teams treated each other, how they treated the other teams, and how they treated the people (and animals!) that they encountered. Being decent got you rewards. Each of the final four teams demonstrated this theme in different ways. First, you had the parallel of the two young couples. One was most excellent to each other and the people around them. The other…not so much. The former won the whole thing, and the latter didn’t even get to the final three. Then you had Christina and Ron. They were struggling to even stay in it at first. But once Ron stopped being such an ass, (and Christina stopped playing into Ron’s assiness so much) they started to succeed. Final three for them. Finally, you had Nick and Don, who were excellent to each other the whole time. And based on what we saw, they weren’t particularly great racers. They were hindered by slowness, mistakes, etc. throughout. They made it into the final three anyway. All in all, it was a very satisfying end to a very enjoyable season! ---
