So another case of the previous leg being utterly meaningless. No Speed Bump for Sheri and Cole, just continue racing with an immediate bunching point on the overnight train.

Absolutely. It was funny that Tyler kept bitching that Scott had taken his backpack, when that wound up being what saved them.

Eh. He didn’t know that it was an accident. And he didn’t necessarily know it was even another Racer who took it. If my backpack were suddenly missing just as we were finally about to head for the Pit Stop, I’d probably be bitching a lot, too.

Sorry, what I meant was that I was surprised that she didn’t run it back, rather than sending him to do it.

Exactly! Since he’d spent who knows how long doing a frenetic dance over and over and all she’d been doing is standing there.

And she didn’t say “i got your bag” when he was done. Didn’t notice he grabbed and was carrying a bag the whole way out the building. She was pretty useless.

Because she can’t seem to do anything herself. Did she even help out making the strings of nuts? I know she stirred the pot, but that was all I saw her do. I’m kind of glad that she’s gone though.

I must say the tasks are more interesting this season, making candy, cleaning out huge wine pots, all really cool stuff. The dancing was interesting too, though it seemed they let some of them get away with some hand movements and not others. I did fully expect one of them to have to do it 20 or so times once they started saying it was there “5th” time.

Okay, curling season is over and my Friday nights are free again. What have I missed?
Actually, I watched last night, and it’ll take me a little while to know the teams. The team that was eliminated (father and daughter, right?) seemed like they were lucky to be as close as they were. First they were saved because a couple teams switched Detours. Then, on the way to the Roadblock it looked like their cab was refueling out in the boonies somewhere.

I’ve often thought that the pass/fail standard for things like dance tasks gets more lenient the more attempts are made. By your tenth time through the judge will accept just about anything. Still, kudos to the next-to-last team for plowing through it one more time after it looked like they were out of it.

And nice to see **lorene** still posting in these threads. Hope you’re well.

I’m kinda hoping Tyler/Korey lose soon. They were dominant early on but that’s two legs in a row now they’ve screwed up bad and only been saved by another team’s even larger mistake. I was aghast they gave up on the candy-making task.

> [@amarinth](#):

> Actually, why Sheri? I think this is the third roadblock in a row that she’s done. Can Cole do anything himself?

I can understand having her do the Charmonix one since he’s apparently deathly afraid of heights. And I can understand having her do the dancing one. I have no idea why they decided she should change the oil.

> [@Shoeless](#):

> Although I have to say, I was surprised that he got through the dance task as quickly as he did. I thought they’d be there long after everyone else had left.

Same here, as soon as they decided to have Daddy to do the dance challenge, I assumed they were dead. Ironic in that he managed to beat the challenge before Tyler/Korey… and then still ended up losing the leg for them because of the bag (though arguably Blair shares some blame for picking up his bag and not telling him).

As an aside, does anyone else find it creepy how she consistently calls him “daddy?” At least around here, no one uses that once they grow older than say, 10 years old.

Down in South Texas where I grew up, it’s fairly common for a 50 yr old man to call his 70 yr old father Daddy.

IME, anyways. YMMV

Every Southern woman I know, no matter how old, and many Northern women, call their fathers Daddy. This applies equally to 20 year old single women and 85 year old women who are reminiscing.

</div>

I’m not Southern, but I still call my father Daddy. That’s his name! 😃

I do try to say Dad when I’m in public, but I often forget, and then I get embarrassed when I hear myself yelling it across the supermarket.

I’m 52.

No one seems to talk about killer fatigue anymore, but I think it’s definitely setting in with Tyler and Korey. They’re just so worn out that they couldn’t deal with redoing the candy task. I hope to see them in the final three, but at this rate, it doesn’t look likely.

Apparently Blair tweeted during the show that she had injured her leg in Switzerland, hence her making Daddy do all the physical roadblocks. I’m trying to remember what she could have possibly done to gimp her leg and coming up blank.

Bad landing on the parachuting down the Alps?

Wasn’t that in France? It would make sense though that it would be then.

Re-reading the episode description on wikipedia, the Switzerland leg had the following tasks:

- Assemble a Swiss army knife, or measure the really long bench (Blair & daddy did knife)
- Identify 10 flags at the UN (everyone teamed up except nobody helped the last place girl)
- Take the train to Charmonix

I remember that train sequence, at least vaguely. When the last place team showed up at the station, I think Blair tried to get everyone to hide so they wouldn’t see them on the train. I believe she fell down trying to hide. Maybe she rolled her ankle when she fell.

Me too.
But they did manage to arrive at the dancing task before Blair and Daddy.
And when they were cleaning out the wine thingy they seemed pretty stoked to be doing that rather than the candy. Apparently they really really hated making the candy. And unlike Brodie and Kurt their yield was 4 bad and only 1 good. They aren’t proficient at making candy so switching isn’t _entirely_ stupid.

They do seem to be making poorer decisions and failing at tasks now. They were good at getting from point A to point B though since they were first to the detour, so that’s a positive on their side. I do like that they keep a good attitude (Koreyography).

Sherri is kinda amazing. Cole, less so.

IIRC, their problem with the candy making was that their fingers could no longer push the needle through the hazelnuts.

And while they are my favorite team, I concur that they probably aren’t going to survive much further.

I’ve seen every single season and this is the first time he’s failed to do so.

I don’t think I can watch one more second of Dana (I think that’s her name). Why hasn’t that guy left her yet? I’ve lost some respect for him, too.
